Tellingly Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
Tellingly is built to work without a public profile, social graph, or required account.
What We Collect
- Daily answer choices, stored as aggregate counts for each question option.
- A hashed anonymous device identifier used only to prevent one device from counting the same question repeatedly on the same day.
- Comparison-link payloads when you explicitly create a link. These include the answered question IDs, answer labels, rarity score, and verdict line needed for your friend to compare.
- Email address only if you join the launch or beta waitlist.
What Stays Local
Your longer-running pattern map and streak are stored in your browser or app local storage unless you choose to create a comparison link.
How We Use Data
- To show live answer distributions and rarity scores.
- To generate comparison links that expire after 30 days.
- To contact beta or launch waitlist members who opted in.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not run third-party ads in this version.
- We do not require location, contacts, camera, microphone, or a social login.
Retention and Deletion
Comparison links expire after 30 days. Waitlist email deletion requests can be sent to support@tellingly.app. Aggregate answer counts may remain because they are not designed to identify a person.
